Entry to SPCC Color Challenge

Well, Sunday is my Daddy's (Yes, spoken like a true Southern Girl, Daddy! AT least it's not Big Daddy like Blanche!) (Do you know who I am talking about? :)

So, I was needing to get my entry into this week's SPCC Color Challenge, so I decided to scrap my Daddy. I wish I could tell you how much of a Daddy's girl I am. I wake up worrying about him and go to bed worrying about him. I just love him so much! In the past 3 1/2 years he has had a rough go of it! First, my brother, the only boy and the one taking over the family farms was killed, the FIRST time I have ever seen my daddy cry. Then in January his farming partner for 37 years, his uncle, passed away totally unexpected. Then just a couple weeks ago, we lost my Pepa- his dad. So, now dad has not only all the farms to take care of, but he still takes it one day at a time. He loves us with everything he has and gives everything he can to the land. A farmer is one of the hardest jobs in the world. The dairy cows don't let you call in sick or take a vacation day. You can't operate while being away- no conference calls, emails to delay, or rainchecks. You live for the land and you are always on GOD's schedule. If it rains, snows, ices, the electric goes out, doesn't matter. There is still work to be done. It is that work ethic he has drilled into my sister, brother, and I and it is what he IS. Love you so much Daddy! Happy 51st birthday. You amaze me! (Why am I telling him this here, computers are not his thing unless they are on a switchboard in a tractor or combine :)

You made me giggle out loud. Since I have been off work for the last 5 months with my new knee my sleep cycle has been topsyturvey.I find myself awake til 2 or 3 am and spend alot of time watching M.A.S.H. , Andy Griffith and The GOLDEN GIRLS so yes, I know all about Big Daddy.
Love your LO. Can't believe your dad is a year younger than me.
Have a lovely weekend, ms.cheryl
