Oh Kenny!

Not a crafty pic, but THIS GUY
is in town tonight and I couldn't be more happy to have him around:)
For all those NON country music peeps, it's Kenny Chesney.
I have been VERY lucky to have had backstage passes, meet and greet passes, pit passes and front and center seats several times.  Other times I have settled for 10th row, LOL, poor me I know! HA!
Going to KC concerts has been a tradition for my fam, ecspecially my sis and I for over 10 years :)  Yes, he is kinda short, I am 5'5 and I have heels on here, but I could wear flip flops all day :)
Now for one of my favorite quotes my mom has ever said:
"Let's just say I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers."
Love mom. Of course she was referring to Tom Brady (NE Patriots Quarterback), but it applies to me here :)

CHA or Bust!

Happy Saturday you guys!
Can I tell you how excited I am to be going to CHA next week?! I have already preordered the NEW things I am going to buy from most of the companies and already have this in the mail:
The Life Is Good collection from Echo Park! I have Walk in the Park and Sweet Summertime kits too, AND a NEW kit from them you haven't seen yet :) The new kit ships Aug 1st so should be here ASAP!!! I will only have a few of each available! They will be $11 each. That includes the 12 papers and 2 12x12 sticker sheets in each! I will combine shipping and you will only be charged the EXACT cost to ship! So message me if you want me to save you one! You won't find it cheaper anywhere! (I may also hear a giveaway for my followers :) HINT!)

So, I am SUPER excited to be heading out next week with my friend Amanda, aka CraftyPaperGirl and hitting Chi-Town! I can only imagine our upcoming conversations :) Did I mention I was excited? I really sis not know if I was going to get to go with Dusti's latest surgery and all, but it has all worked out so that I can!
Off to find the perfect hostess gift for Amanda's sweet friend who lives in Chicago!
OH- and don't you worry, I will be posting plenty of pics for you!!!!!

look out world :)

So one of my FAV manufacturers, American Crafts has a FAB challenge going on :)
Here it is:
Well, I just had to join in! Here is my take!
Everything you see is AC :)
Including: Cardstock, PP: Woodland Court (Abode), Wheeler Ave (Abode), Foam Thickers in Cinnamon, Smiley Flair (Dear Lizzy), Ribbon: Lively (Dear Lizzy), Paper Flowers (Dear Lizzy), This to That Perm Adhesive, Foam Tabs!
I LOVE tying Dear Lizzy into boyish LO's! The circles are all hyped up on foam tabs, along with the flowers and flair! THe foam thickers are perfect for dimension!
I based this LO off of one of AC's Designers, Shannon Zickel's LO's in the new Scrapbook Etc. Mag. Yes, it's a stretch, but I too love white space :)
Thanks for looking!!! Don't forget to snag up some AC goodies! The new Enchanted Line is FAB :)

Did you guess right??? TEXAS :)

Well, I spent Wednesday through Saturday in Fort Worth/Dallas, Texas. My mom had a convention thingy she went to and invited my sister, aunt, monkey, and I along. Well, Matthew and I declined since it had just been 3 weeks since Dustin's surgery. Well, the stars aligned and opporutnity knocked, and Dustin was going to be cared for, so Matthew and I flew down and arrived at the hotel to suprise them. It was great to see the smiles on their faces. After a shaky start and a tummy bug, Matthew was ready to rock :)
Matthew was like a kid in a candy store. In the case you don't know, my son wants to be a bullrider when he grows up and I believe him. LOL. He knows ever PBR bull's name, every bull rider, the rules, the gear, etc. He even asked for tickets to the PBR in Nashville in August, which of course he is getting from my parents. 3 days 2 nights, of bull riding and fun for him in Nashville. So while in Fort Worth, we went to the Stockyards and he went to a rodeo, dressed to the nines. Bull riding vest, chaps, his boots, hat, riding gloves, and all. I should have charged a fee for all the people who asked me if they could take a picture with him. I lost count. SO CUTE and he ate it up. Even the bull fighters (clowns) spotted him and became BFF's with him! My dad should be proud. One big country boy that has rubbed off onto another little one :) Thanks dad for encouraging my little guy to be a bull rider. I am starting to make my therapy appointments already to deal with it :)
A few highlights from the trip:

(He made friends with one of the bull riders and he let him try on his helmet. Needless to say he added this to his birthday list :)
My aunt, sister, Monkey, and I after the rodeo :)
(Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Thank you to the super sweet guy who we talked into letting us go through locked gates to get a better picture :) He was super sweet :)

We had a great time. Even hit Texas Ranger Field and Six Flags Hurricane Harbour. Many scrappy pictures :) It was really nice to get out of town for a few.
The sun and waterpark were fab, but the time with my little guy was amazing!

Guess Where??

Well, I have a confession, all the posts since Tuesday were prescheduled. I was not around bloggyland or crafty land from Tuesday night until today :) I actually went on a mini VAY-CAY :)
Anyone guess where? Here are a few pics :)  (And Kristin you don't count, so SHHH.  :)
(fyi- I sweet talked some great lawn worker to let us in the gates for a picture or 10 :)

I'll be back later to fill you in :)
Don't forget about the giveaway I am hosting for
a free pair of monogrammed flip flops!
You have until Wednesday night to enter!

Kids Craft Fun!- Beading

With the success of last week's Kids Craft post, I am going to add another fun Kids Craft we do around here. Now I know you supermom's are pros at all the fun ideas, but I am just showing what works around here for us :)
Pipe Cleaner Beading :)
Matthew loves to pick a pipe cleaner and then make patterns on them to make bracelets! I have an adorable pink/purple/orange custom made for me! LOL.
He loves feeling like he can make nana a gift all on his own too.
Not to mention he loves making patterns and I love watching him think through the process of 5+ color patterns!
(And yes, this is his little table in my studio. His charts hang above it, a dry erase board where we write the dayof the week, season, word of the day, and number of the day.)
Have a fab day! Don't forget to leave me a comment with any great kid craft ideas! I'd love to try them out!!!
Thanks so much for the great ideas last week!!! Hope you have more for me :)

Sketchy Thursdays!- My Take :)

So, even though I enjoy all my Design Team work, I love it when I get the chance to create for me :) Yesterday was one of those days that I HAD to take soem "Me Create" time before I worked on orders, DT work, etc. If not, I might have exploded :)(OR eaten an entire pint of my favorite Raspberry Sorbet:)  So, I decided to play along for the 1st time at Sketchy Thursdays. I always read their blog and admire the work of those there (like bloggy buddy Julie and frequent challenge goer AP :), but haven't taken the time to play along....until yesterday :) Here is my LO:
and here is the sketch I used!
I was determined to use all Echo Park Papers :) The Die and the Button are from PTI :)
Thanks for having a look at my me time :)

Kid Craft Fun!

My son loves my "Crick" (aka Cricut Expression). He ask me all the time to "crick"  him out some of this, some of that. (Dinosaurs, Letters, Paper Pirates, Etc) Well the other day it was cowboys and cowgirls. I love when I can use my crafting to make my little guy happy too! Here are some play by play for you :)
I cut paper dolls at 4.5 inches and clothes to match including chaps, jeans, shirts, boots, skirts, hats, hair styles, and stick horses :)
Then he got to assemble! I gave him my large craft glue stick and away he went!
I seriously had to halter my control issues  ( :)I am a perfectionist sometimes, and of course I wanted them to be just perfect :) But he did great of course :)
So, what are all the crafty moms out there doing to combat the summertime boredom?
We are usually out and about- zoo, waterpark, pool, science museum, aquarium, etc. With the surgery 2 weeks ago and all I am having to stay close to home--like in the house all the time to be here for Dust. (20 minutes is the longest I think I have left him!) He can't even fix his own drink right now b/c the muscles in his back are so weak. Poor guy! Therefore, we are improvising and I am always looking for fun stuff to do!
We are pros at bubbles, sidewalk chalk, lightening bug and wooly worm catching, sandbox, water play, etc.!
So, give me all your favs! I am thinking about making a weekly spot on my bloggeroo here for those fun crafty kiddo things :)
Have a fab day!!!

Barnyard Fever!

Happy 4th of July to all my fellow Americans! So very cool to see the red, white, and blue flying and seeing the pride in our country. Hope you all have a great day!
Here is some red, white, and blue- BARNYARD style :)
One of my most popular banners/toppers/signs this summer! Barnyard seems to be a hot birthday theme! Matthew's birthday is in August and we are preparing for his Buckeroo Bash ourselves! Think cowboys, bull riders, etc! He is so excited! Bouncy house, bubble station, horse rides, and a bonfire to roast hot dogs and make smores! There are super awesome perks to your daddy being a dairy farmer----he can help you throw one heck of a shin dig for your little guy! Dad's hauling over the bales of hay for seating and all. Can't wait!
Have a great afternoon!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Don't forget to sign up as a follower!
