i Wish....

Anyone who know sme knows that I am a Daddy's Girl in every way. I just admire him so much. As I have told my mom so many times, "They just don't make them like that anymore!" :) Yes, a little bias, but this man amazes me. Never a harsh word, puts others first always, family is priority, and works from before the sun comes up until way after it goes down.

This Title "i Wish" is inspired by a new challenge blog It's All ABout Me. Check it out! I am the way I am b/c of this man and he really is my hero! The hidden journaling can be read when you pull out the tab flower I made from ribbon and a brad. It was too personal for me to just put out there :) I breathe easier when I am with my dad. He is my rock.

This week

Hey everyone. Warning: This post will be a bit of a rambling on things I need to remember to say today, lol.

5. I am taking my little guy to see Wiggles Live today. he is very excited! He is then going home with my parents for a few days. I plan to catch up on housework, challenges, finishing my mini kits, mailing all outstanding orders, listing the new things in the shoppe (including Christmas Cards), catching up on my shameless addiction to Reality TV, getting all the little guy's clothes ready for preschool and put in his closet, and FINALLY- enjoying a 50 minute Signature Massage from CaloSpa my husband gave me yesterday as a gift :) (I had one back in the fall and a pedi there, they were crazy FAB!) He is too sweet, he had the bag delivered and had Matthew hand it to me saying, "Thank you for taking care of me and daddy mommy. I luuuuuuve you :)" Made my day. A massage sounds like a million dollars. So, hopefully I will be back on the war path this week! I have things to make, challenges to enter, and sleep to get :)

Craft 4 A Cause

I am SO excited to finally be able to officially launch Craft 4 A Cause. C4AC has been in the works for a while and I got word today that after a month and a half of waiting and answering their questions, C4AC is an official Team on Etsy! Click on the link to join! Goodies!!!

Want to know where I have been the past week when I havn't been blogging or cleaning, or being a mom or wife? Enjoying my super goodies from SU! My boxes came Friday and I was pumped. Christmas Posies and a Giveaway!

So I am kinda getting in the "I should start on my Christmas Cards" spirit. It seems that the closer Christmas gets, the more orders I am filling making others Christmas Cards and I end up doing mine online at Walgreen's the week before. (As long as my card to you is postmarked before the 25th, I am fine. One year I actually had my cards done and addressed in October. Sure was nice, but then I realized that I was that friend. The one who sent the first Christmas card and suddenly reminded everyone else that they were not on top of things like OCD me. Needless to say, I haven't doen it since, lol. Anyways, trying to use some paper up the othe rnight and made these Christmas Posies for the shoppe and I just love them. Again, simple but cute! I might just have a set for someone :) Comment and I will pick a winner. I want to know the ONE Christmas "thing" you hate doing the most. i.e. wrapping presents, finding boxes, taking down the tree, etc. Mine- FINDING THOSE GREEN TREE PINES EVERYWHERE 8 MONTHS AND 403 FLOOR MOPPINGS LATER. UGH!!!! :)

Another Challenge Set- Christmas and SU Sneak Peek! & Giveaway Winner!

How did you get started on etsy?: I decided to open my etsy shop because I had friends and family that wanted to buy the things I made, so I thought that maybe there were more people out there that would appreciate my work too.



Any advice for new etsy sellers that you have learned?: be patient, also, have a variety of colors for the same items so people have options



What do you want customers to know about you and/or your product: that I'm a stay at home mom to a beautiful baby boy and all my crochet work is made with love, also I want them to know that I accept custom orders and I don't charge anything extra for it and that the money I make on etsy does help with my household income.



Shameless addictions (retail therapy, etc): I'm addicted to milk chocolate, crochet, internet and love fiestaware china - although I don't have too many pieces.

Irish Invites :)

I had a custom request for some baby shower invitations for a Shamrock themed baby shower. I was going for simple, classy, and fun. Here is what I got! The green paper is Core Coordinations and I love it. The texture is very neat and really looked beter than plain green cardstock. The white is Bazzill Blings. I embossed the white with my Cuttlebug and the Invitation themed folder. I then colored the green accents by hand on the embossed image. Yes, time consuming, but how freaking pretty! After adhering the 2 pages together I punched and ran the shamrock ribbon through the top and tied a bow. I was really pleased with how they came out and I the embossing just makes the entire thing. Less is more sometimes, ya know!!!

Pay It Forward!

I have had SO many nice comments, emails, and even dinner by miss CraftyPaperGirl, which was FAB may I add, since we got home from the hospital. When I saw this post on Amanda's blog, I knew I wanted to join in!

The subject of "pay it forward" has come up quite frequently lately. I love the whole idea of paying it forward and usually the stories I hear are inspiring and uplifting. Then, this past week, I came across Regina's blog, Scrap Creations who had a post about "paying it forward." Regina has a wonderful idea to incorporate paying it forward, crafting, sharing and inspiring. Here are the details...

Where did the name come from: I lived in England for several years when I was growing up and became accustomed to people calling houses "cottages." My husband and I recently purchased a home on a street called Parkwood, so it seemed natural to blend the two together.

How did you get started on etsy?: I've been an avid photographer for years and have had several people comment on my work, so in April I decided to go out on a limb and open my shop.

Any advice for new etsy sellers that you have learned?: Patience! I've found that it takes a lot of time to find your "niche" on Etsy. Many of my sales are actually trades with other shops, which is a great way to get your work noticed. Don't give up!

What do you want customers to know about you and/or your product: All of the photographs in my shop are taken by myself or my husband; and are professionally printed, signed and dated. I take great care in wrapping and packaging to ensure that your print will arrive safely.

Shameless addictions (retail therapy, etc): Coffee, chocolate, books, and Etsy!Anything else interesting you'd like to share with us?
