Computer Pic Clean Up!

I have all these random pics on my computer tha I am trying to to get posted adn filed away! So, I think i will go ahead and share some of them! The 25th birthday layout was for my sister in May. She is new to scrapping and I wanted to give her a little something else with her gift. I also made her the cupcake toppers to match. It is simple and easy for her to add 2 pics and be done! I love the Cuttin Up Font Cart from ProvoCraft for my Cricut Exp. Funky and Fun!

For Father's Day my Father-In_Law insisted we get him nothing. Well you know I couldn't let that happen! I saved a blueberry container from the grocery and reused it to make this cute packaging with nothing other that some paper, ribbon, stamps, and adhesive! Inside I added some fresh baked brownie squares, individually wrapped. He loved it!

I love requests. My husband's aunt requested some simple thank you cards to send to those who had brought food and such over for her mother who is in poor health with stage 4 lung cancer. (My husband's grandmother.) I made these using Papertrey Ink's cardstock and Perfect Match ribbon. The weight is nice and heavy. I felt like they were still warm and classy with the feminine touch. Considering what they were being sent for, I think the green really made the mood.

Thanks for reading guys! Trying to clean off this comuter! Back for more later!!!

Any advice for new etsy sellers that you have learned?: I have learned a lot from reading the forum posts and asking my own questions there as well. CAUGHT UP!

Yep, Caught up with orders for 62Cards. Doesn't happen very often as I am always a day or two or five out, but not today. CAUGHT UP! My Etsy anniversary was 2 weeks ago. I was so hoping to hit 300 sales by midnight that night and you know what...I DID! 308 sales to be exact. In the past two weeks I have had 62 orders. What a kawinkedink! I don't think I am superstitious, but sometimes I think my brother gives me signs that he is looking over me. 62 sales, when the gas tank amount hits $62.00 or when I actually pay attention to a road sign and it says, 62. (For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, 62 was his football number and we lost him 3 years ago in a car accident. He was 18.) I HAVE to believe he is looking over me. I HAVE to have that faith to make it through the day. I HAVE to smile when the number 62 pops up anywhere, because that was a number he wore, loved, and reminds me of him. So, today I am caught up. And thankful. And faithful. And hopeful. And full of love.

Saturday Spotlight- Crafty Paper Girl

Saturday Spotlight time! Here I feature artists and their work! I encourage you to check out their shops, and as always, a special treat is in it for you at the end! Show support & love! You guys are the best at it!!! (If you would like to be featured, simply send me an email at sammyejo@62cards.com and we will get you scheduled! Happy spotlight day!

Saturday Spotlight- Amanda at http://www.craftypapergirl.etsy.com/

Name: Amanda P.

Where are you from: Louisville, KY, born and raised!
What do specialize in: & where did you get your idea?: Hmm... I suppose I "specialize" in all things crafty! I have been doing this a long time... I love paper, fabric, embellishments, and all things cute and fun! My first love is paper (stationery and scrapbooking) and coming in a close second is making my feltie embellishments. The felt embellishments is something I have a weakness for. I have purchased many from Etsy shops and my LSS. Back in May, my mom made me a dress out of some really cute floral fabric. She had a ton of fabric left over and I loved it so much, I started cutting the big flowers out. Then, the felt entered my mind and I started adding that to the blossoms. From there, buttons, and thread, etc. I was addicted to making these cuties. Finally, the birds sent me over the edge. I was hooked.

Where did the name come from: I combined my love for paper and crafts into one name. I also carry this name on my blog: http://www.craftypapergirl.blogspot.com/

How did you get started on etsy?: Well, I made a bunch of my feltie birds. They were so cute and fun to make that I ended up with so many! That's when I decided to open the Etsy shop... I am a shopper on Etsy, so it wasn't all that new to me!
Any advice for new etsy sellers that you have learned?: I would say to have/use lots of tags on your items. A good picture and decent description is also helpful!
What do you want customers to know about you and/or your product: I am open to suggestions! If you need a bird or feltie to match a product, contact me! I am proud to offer super low shipping too!
Anything else interesting you'd like to share with us? I'm addicted to my craft room... it's beautiful. I wish I could sit in here all day making stuff! I suppose I'll settle for a strong cup of coffee or a Diet Coke, and some dark chocolate, though!
________________________________
I know a lot of you make your own embellishments, but who doesn't love some freebies!!! :) The winner gets a free bird and free flower! You got it, FREE! Head over to her blog to see more pictures of it! Lisa- email me with your email address and I will have Claudia at Die Cuts R Us send you your gift certificate! Congrats and thanks for particiapting. All the entrys were sooooo cute. Thanks guys!!!
My apologies for being absent yesterday! My hubby had surgery and so far so good. His blood disorder seems to be responding well to the presurgery drugs he had and I thank you for all your prayers and support. He ate a little soup last night and was able to take his meds last night. He is still asleep right now, but it looks as if the bleeding has subsided to that of anormal person. (FYI- I don't know if I ever told you all but this was an oral surgery, he had to have an infection removed from his jaw and subsequently lost 8 teeth, 4 wisdom and 4 others in the back of his mouth. Being that he has Von Willnbrands Disease, a clotting disorder of the blood, it complicates everything. He was due to have his 2 dics replacement on July 3rd, but this infection showed up and it had to be GONE and we had to be free from infection before the back surgery, thus neabt another surgery. God has blessed us so very much. He has held our hand and allowed me to fight all the What If's the devil throws at me. I am a stronger mother and wife than ever anad I KNOW we are going to be FINE!!!

Much love you guys!

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

You guys rock!

I have such wonderful followers! You guys are the BEST! The hubby has his first of 2 surgeries tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers please. We also found out today that the second surgery, a multiple disc replacement (his 2nd one) is scheduled for August 7th, our son's birthday. Pretty bummed about that, but we have NO choice in this matter. We cannot push it off any longer. We already had to move it for this other surgery that had to come first. So, we will celebrate the little guys 3rd birthday early. I know he doesn't know better, but I do :(

So, before I schedule a post for tomorrow, remember to link up any project, layout, or card to Mr. Linky in this Summer Lovin post that reminds you of Summer. There is a gift certificate to Die Cuts R Us coming to the winner!!!!! Contest ends tomorrow. Winner announced Thursday, so LINK IT UP!

Saturday Spotlight- Paper Doll Stationery

Saturday Spotlight time! Here I feature artists and their work! I encourage you to check out their shops, and as always, a special treat is in it for you at the end! Show support & love! You guys are the best at it!!! (If you would like to be featured, simply send me an email at sammyejo@62cards.com and we will get you scheduled! Happy spotlight day!

Saturday Spotlight- Amanda at Paper Doll Stationery

*Name: Amanda P.

*Where are you from: Born and raised in Louisville, KY

*What do specialize in: & where did you get your idea?: Personalized stationery, invitations and announcements. I started making stationery gifts for friends and family and it slowly became a paying business!

*Name & URL of store: Paper Doll Stationery http://www.paperdollstationery.com/

*Where did the name come from: I chose the name because I thought it was cute and catchy! I also played with lots of paper dolls as a child.

*How did you get started ?: I built my web site because I started to get lots of customers from around the USA and people would ask if I had a catalog, which I don't. I also started getting lots of appointments with people coming in and out of the house. The web site enabled me to share all of my products with customers everywhere and made it a lot easier on everyone to browse the designs from the comfort of their own home, on their own time.

*What do you want customers to know about you and/or your product: My stationery is all hand done: I print, design, cut, fold, tie bows, stamp, package, etc. all myself. I do lots of custom work too. I want my customers to be thrilled with their personalized product and I am willing to happily work with them to get exactly what they want! I also love packaging! Sometimes, even the smallest gift is more meaningful in a package that says "WOW!" I love the cute factor of ribbons, tissue, and a great label.

*Anything else interesting you'd like to share with us? Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it!) I have lots of addictions: sweets, especially dark chocolate, black coffee, scrapbooking, ribbon, embellishment and paper hording, shoes, especially flip flops, and bags. I love the color and simplicity of Vera Bradley, Brighton, and Studio Calico.

________________________________

Who doesn't LOVE stationery :) I loved a notepad I got from her for my best friend's birthday!! . And to celebrate being the featured seller, one of you is getting a $15 Gift Certificate! Whatcha Doin' Today???

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great day! Mine has been jam packed! My little guy is at my parents house nad is coming home tomorrow. This morning I met my super cool scrappy friend Raegan at Archiver's for an uneeded, but much wanted scrappy shop trip :) Lots of good find! I even got some more stuff, with Raegan's help, for my blog candy! (Brads, stickers, paper for the packs, etc!) After grabbing an amazingly Strawberry Banana Vavanno Smoothie from Starbucks, we headed out. I came home to head to the hematologist with my hubby. They drew 11 viles of blood. CRAZY! And we got to talk to the actual doc who will be in on the surgeries. Very nice guy!!! Now we are home and I am heading to get my hair done. (I always feel like my grandma when I say that, like I am getting it set or something, lol) More blonde. less brown :) I love summer. Such a great excuse for fun blonde hair and bronze cheeks! You know something that is funny. B/c I change my hair so much, I don't know if I have one Christmas picture with blonde hair! Only brown or black since it is winter! HA! Myabe I chould carry the golden on this year! (My hubby would HAPPILY agree to that. :)
Enough for now, i just wanted to say hello since I had a couple minutes before I needed to leave and no little guy around to play with :( (Not to mention that I am a compulsive email/blog checker!)
More otmorrow- some new LO's, cards, and I need your advice ! So check back!!!
