Ever had one of these?

Ever made a card and you know it needs something else and you just can't figure it out?? That was me on this one. I refused to use ribbon, because I have used ribbon everywhere as of late! The die, both the window and the scalloped border are NEW Papertry Ink Dies! Yep, carrying their own now and they are great! Much like the Spellbinders dies and cut through felt, chip, etc. Loving them! I bought them all :)
The PP (which I got with my Unity kit, so I don't know who it is by) on this card is raised upon dimensionals and the border set on the inside is made to go along with the dies from PTI. The coordinating stamps for the dies are only 5 bucks! You get the border and some sentiments! Perfect! The sentiment in this one os from PTI's Mega Mixed Messages. My GO TO set for sentiments!

Preschool vis Dear Lizzy :)

So I am SUPER pumped. My big ole box from American Crafts will be here today with all my goodies I ordered from them! Including the Dear Lizzy :) (Oh how I love thee :)
And even though I had the order on it;s way to me, I could not resist buying just a couple sheets and the stamps while in the craft store :) (Instant Gratification :)
So, I made this layout when I got home. I am determined to use this line with tons of pics even though I have a little boy. I have heard several comments on how people love it, but think it is too girly for their boys. I WILL prove you wrong :)
Here is the first LO with it. The border around my stamped image is AC, but from the Letterbox Collection :) The big yellow flower was one I took apart from some fake flowers I had.  I did my journaling in the cloud and loved it :)
You can't see it, but I added the year on the banner hanging from the trees!
Stay tuned for more boy fun with Dear Lizzy and me :)

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

So, Kim Crawford had a great card on the Moxie Fab blog that the Super Fab Cathy used for the Tuesday Trigger. I loved the yellow she used! So, here is my take on the TT! I really could use a little sunshine here in KY. The flip flops are begging me to be worn :) Oh the bottom pic is another angle so you can see the detail of the ribbon!
Cardstock: White (PTI), Ribbon: Yellow (Michaels), Bermuda Bay (SU), Stamp: Mega Mixed Messages (PTI), Border Punch: Stampin' Up, Pearls: Opaline (Basic Grey), Ink: Bermuda Bay (SU)

Thanks for looking :)

Thank You- Moxie Fab Style :)

So, as the weather was warming here in the Bluegrass, but it decided to snow again today :) That's KY for you! I'm ready for some sunshine, the Derby, and warmness :)
Anyways, I am joining in the Moxie Fab Fun this week and this is my Thank You card. The inside reads, "Thank You Crafty Friend!" Everything you see is Papertrey Ink, except the Markers (Copic) and Crystal Effects (SU).
ANd a picture of the cute stamped/colored/covred buttons without the "glass jar" glare :)

Off to work on the other entries! So, you may see more posts from me today!
(Because it's too cold to venture out in my beloved flip flops :) So, I think I'll stamp :)

Banner Bonanza :)

The weather has been warming up here some in KY. However, they are calling for more snow, so I am trying to enjoy the 40's while I can! I love all the seasons, but I adore my flip flops. If I wasn't afraid of frost bite, I'd wear them in snow. :)
This cheerful goodness, makes me smile too :) The blank banner is going to be used to place pictures from newborn to 1 to hang at her party! I cannot wait to see the pictures her mom is going to send :) I'll be sure to share!! This was a super fun custom order for me! I love bright and fun! But you already knew that :)

Layout Fun

Long time no Layout :) I seem to scrap for a while, then make cards for a while, and the repeat :) So, here is a double LO I made the other night! I loved using my gypsy to get teh letters just how I wanted, used my Cricut markers to draw on the paper, then colored the letters in with my Copics. Fun times!

No Patterned Paper-- and how I made this card :)

Well, the challenge today at DCRU DT BLOG is no patterned paper! Well, Just because I can use PP doesn't mean I can't give cardstock the look of it :) (I do bend rules, I know :) The cardstock we used today is from Prism Papers, available at DCRU.
Supplies Used :
Cardstock: (Prism Papers) Stamps: Fun -(American Crafts) Tools- CuttleBug & Embossing Folders (Provo Craft) Ink: Lovely Lilac (Stampin Up) Pearls: Opaline (Basic Grey) Other: Ribbon

Instructions:
Cut cardstock to size and fold. Stamp floral print onto base in a random pattern. Cut another piece of cardstock to layer on top, emboss, and round the corners. Using those measurements cut three strips of cardstock and emboss in a contrasting embossing folder. Ink all embossed pices by rubbing your stamp pad ver them lightly. Then, wrap your ribbon around, twisting in the front, and tie into a bow. Now, adhere entire piece to the card. Stamp frame onto a scrap piece of cardstock and using a darker shade of ink stamp your sentiment. Cut out your sentiment and use an adhesive that lifts, add to the card. Add half pearls to the ends.

Food for thought:
What a nice way to get the look you want by using stamps to make your own patterned paper and being able to match all the shades exactly.

When I started, I wasn't going for monochromatic, but it ended up there :)
Join in and play with us this week at DCRU!

Cupcakes and Cold :)

Hey all my crafty friends :) We are gearing up for another snow storm, and although we don't get the amounts I know many of you do, around here you add water and you get instant idiots when it comes to driving. Seriously, some schools get called off just with a forecast of snow. LOL. When I was little, we would pray we HAD school. While some kids sat around and watched tv on snow days, we spent them at the tobacco barn stripping tobacco :) Now that I look back, I think we goofed off more playing on wood piles and chasing each other than actually stripping, but it seemed like so much work then :) After, dad would take us sledding down huge hills on the farm, and then hook us up to the 3 wheelers to pull us back up the hill. Friends loved sledding with us, no walking :) We would all come home and mom would make hot chocolate. My little guy thinks we have to have hot chocolate ANY cold morning! (I usually just warm his chocolate milk up :) Anyways, I am scheduled for my MRI tomorrow morning. So, snow or not, it's a go :) On snow days, my Hummer comes in very handy :) Snow doesn't stop me :) LOL. Anyways,  this is a picture of a card set I made for a customer. I just love cupcakes :) Have a nice and warm day everyone!

Santa Paper Dolls

Hey all! Well, got to the hospital this morning for my MRI and the doc's office had forgot to fax the orders. GRRRRRR. So, I have to reschedule on Monday and will probably have it Tuesday.  So, while I am dealing with a bad headache and my back killing me (Seriously, I never knew your body could start hating you in your twenties, lol), here are some pics from Christmas time of Matthew making paper doll Santas for ornaments :) I cut all the parts with my Paper Doll Dress Up Cart on my Cricut, gave him a glue stick, and he went to town :)
When he was all done and they had dried from the abundance of unecessary glue :)
We punched holes in the top, wrote his name and date on the back, and gave them to all the grandparents, great grandparents, Aunt Sissy & Luke, and he kept one for himself :)
He actually did a pretty good job of a 3 year old, but I think he gets the OCD from me!!!

Where does your creativity come from?

Hi all my super fab followers :)  I think I am coming down with a kidney infection, again, UGH, so I don't feel real hot today!!!! Follwer Karen asked the other day how I pump myself up to be creative, or am I just that way all the time? Well, when I am in pain, I'm not creative Karen :) Other than that my head spins with ideas 24/7. It's my outlet, my fun time :) There are times I feel more creative than others, but I generally have a list of ideas I make and pick which one I feel like working on :) I also love having things hanging on my walls that inspire me. Here is my Layout Clothesline :) It always has some of my current favorite LO's. Other things that inspire me- listening to my son- he gives me great titles to LO's with his 3 year old imagination, looking through magazines and catalogs, and visiting YOUR blogs! You guys rock with great ideas!!!
So, what inspires you to create each day? You guys have a fab day!
